The Foundation for Generational Thinkers (FOGET) has held a one-day career guidance programme for final-year junior high school (JHS) students at Aveme Danyigba in the North Dayi District in the Volta Region.<\/strong><\/h2>

The event formed part of the organisation\u2019s corporate social responsibility to help prepare the students for this year\u2019s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).<\/p>

The students came from five JHSs, namely Aveme Amanfrom DA JHS, Aveme Beme DA JHS, Aveme Danyigba DA JHS, Aveme Gboxome DA JHS and Tsyome Sabadu DA JHS.<\/p>

They were also taken through past questions as part of their preparations towards this year\u2019s BECE slated for November 15 to 19 this year.<\/p>

At the event dubbed: \u201cPASSCODE 2021\u201d, the President of FOGET, Mr Prosper Afetsi, said the programme was something that was held every year for candidates preparing towards the BECE.<\/p>

He charged the candidates not to wait till they grew up before they got serious in life, especially with their studies.<\/p>

\u201cPeople of your age are doing great things in other parts of the world.<\/p>

The future is now and understand that life is a process,\u201d he said.<\/p>

Mr Afetsi charged the candidates not to give up but endeavour to finish hard in order to achieve their aspirations in life.<\/p>

Seed<\/strong><\/h1>

\u201cThe kind of seed you sow will determine the kind of fruit you would reap. You cannot live your life anyhow and turn to demand good things from life,\u201d he said.<\/p>

\u201cPASSCODE is something we do every year and it is in two-folds; the guidance and counselling session and the examination session\u201d, adding that the \u201cguidance and counselling session is to help the students to choose paths that would lead them to careers they want to pursue in future,\u201d he said.<\/p>

Mr Afetsi urged the children to have vision in life as that could give them a clear direction of where they wanted to be in life.<\/p>

\u201cVision brings your world into focus. A clear vision enables you to see everything differently.\u201d<\/p>

\u201cMy observation is that people without clear vision easily give up,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>

For his part, the Public Relations Director of FOGET, Mr Michael Owner Ackwerh, said the poor use of language in subjects such as Social Studies and English Language, among others was identified as the main weakness of some candidates in the BECE which was written annually.<\/p>

He mentioned others to be the disregard for rubrics, poor sketching of diagrams and maps, deviations and introduction of irrelevant points.<\/p>
